In celebration of the fall harvest, the BarnYard has a special theme for each weekend, offering families lots of variety and fun activities.
Of course, our BarnYard Buddies (farm animal area) are always here, and we have tons of activities going on in the BIG BackYard:

We are located 20 minutes from Wilmington and only 7 minutes from downtown Newark. Please follow the parking signs once you arrive on the farm.
Coming from Interstate 95 (North or South)
Take I-95 to exit 109B towards Newark. Travel approx. 1 mile to second traffic light and turn left at WaWa onto Fletchwood Road (Rt.277). Travel approx. 1.3 miles and turn right onto Appleton Road. Travel only 1 mile and we are located on the left directly after the first stop sign.
Traveling on Route 273 West from Newark, DE
In Newark turn onto Main Street (Rte. 273) heading West towards Maryland. Cross over the railroad tracks in Newark and travel approx. 3.3 miles into Maryland and to the first yellow blinking traffic signal (and a High’s Convenience Store) and turn left onto Appleton Road. Continue on Appleton Road for approx. 2 miles, we are located on the right.
Traveling on Route 273 East from Rising Sun, MD (or Rte 1 / BelAir)
Travel on Rt. 273 East toward Newark, Delaware. Travel approx. 11 miles from the Calvert area intersection to a yellow blinking traffic signal (and a High’s Convenience Store) and turn right onto Appleton Road. If you have already crossed into Delaware, turn around, you’ve gone too far. Continue down Appleton Road for approx. 2 miles, we are located on the right.
Traveling on Route 213 from Cecilton, MD and Southern Points
Travel on Rt.213 North heading to Elkton, MD. Turn right onto Elkton-Newark Road (Rt. 279…YMCA) Continue on Elkton-Newark Road for approx. 1.6 miles, through the school zones. Turn left onto Rte. 316 North (Appleton Road) and travel approx. 3 miles, through 2 stop signs, we are located on the left.
Traveling on Rte. 40 from Bear, Delaware or Glasgow
Travel West on Rte. 40 towards Elkton, pass through Glasgow and just after Kohl’s make a right onto Pleasant Valley Road. Go approx. 3.7 miles (which becomes Otts Chapel Road halfway to the “T”) until you come to a “T”. Turn left onto Rte. 279 (Elkton Road). Travel only about 1/3 mile and make a right onto Fletchwood Road Rte. 277 (at the WaWa). Travel approx. 1.3 miles and turn right onto Appleton Road. Travel only 1 mile. We are located on the left directly after the first stop sign.
